Basant Utsav, or the 'Festival of Spring', is one of the most iconic celebrations in Santiniketan, heralding the arrival of Holi with an explosion of music, dance, and colour. Rooted in Rabindranath Tagore’s vision of blending art, nature, and community, the festival transforms the campus into a lively, joyous space where creativity and tradition meet. The most famous is Poush Mela, held every December, which commemorates the founding of the Brahmo Samaj at Shantiniketan.
